Friday Morning Wrap-Up

A nice article discussing Shean Donovan's expanded role can be found in the Ottawa Citizen.  The Ottawa Sun wrote about Jesse Winchester's two fights.

Senate's Note: Great to see some recognition going to the Senator's most consistent player this year, Shean Donovan.  He really has been running on all cylinders and providing some great complimentary play to his line-mates.

Also, last game was the first time that Jesse Winchester showed he could be a physical force.  Perhaps his demotion to the third line is what caused the spark, but whatever the reason, it's nice to see that he has the capability to be a good physical third line grinder.  I would expect him to stay out of the top six for most of the season, as his offensive skills have not quite matured yet, and his puck control skills are a great asset on the checking line.

Off Topic:  Pierre McGuire on the Team 1200 this morning expects Sean Avery's suspension to be announced at noon.

Damn straight, and not just this year; Donovan was the Sens' best player in the playoffs last year.

And where's the love for Sens Army on this place? I think it's safe to say we're blog-friends by now.
