The B-Sens will welcome goaltender Martin Gerber from Ottawa today, as he starts his two-week conditioning stint. Coach Cory Clouston said Thursday that a decision will be made this morning whether Gerber or Jeff Glass will start tonight's game.
On a normal "conditioning stint" it is for the player to get back into form to help the big club. In this case, it is just to get Gerber out from under foot. Gerber will surely see some action on his stint, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Glass got most of the starts. I don't pity him at all as there are 3.7 million reasons not to.
So for those of you following the departure of Martin Gerber, it can take a few paths:
1) After the conditioning stint many NHL teams begin to clamour for the darth lord to come sit on their bench, so Brian Murray trades him.
2) He get's waived and picked up by another team.
3) He get's waived and plays in Binghamton.
4) He get's waived and claimed off re-entry.
Maybe Gerber should start working on his jedi mind tricks so he can convince another team that he can play hockey.
And that's the daily wrap up! Check back Monday for more of the goodness.
