But neither Shero nor Melnyk, Quinn says, spoke to him about the National Hockey League during the world junior tournament, although Melnyk was a main sponsor and Quinn has known Shero since he was a boy. And there's been no contact since, from Ottawa, Pittsburgh or anywhere else. "Not a thing from anyone," Quinn said. "Not a phone call. Not a hint, no wink, no nudge-nudge. "This has all been media-driven, I guess."
It looks like that rumour has been laid to rest, at least for now. It's not to say that it won't happen in the future, it's just highly improbable to happen in the immediate future. Hopefully Melnyk and Murray both realize that this teams needs some stability behind the bench, whether that be from Hartsburg, or someone else.
Sportsnet.ca - Doug MacLean grades Ottawa, and the other Canadian teams. For those of you at work:
sad situation...secondary scoring non-existent...not enough offense from the back-end
A pretty fair appraisal of the team.

Good to see he's a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Casey Jones was no Leonardo, but he did have his moments......
