The Daily Wrap Up - Wednsday January 21, 2009

TheFourthPeriod - With the injury to Pascal Leclaire, all the conjecture surrounding him coming to Ottawa can be put on hold.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Leclaire will have right ankle surgery and miss the remainder of the 2008-09 season.
This rumour has already been called into question, but now can be cast aside (until the summer), as his trade value has gone the way of Enrique Iglesias's mole.

WinipegSun.com - There had been some talk of the Senators taking a gamble on goalie Curtis Sanford when he hit waivers, but he cleared them and went down to the AHL.
There were rumours a team like the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Islanders or Ottawa Senators might pick him up but Sanford ultimately cleared and was assigned to the Moose
With the recent strong performance of goaltender Brian Elliott, clearly this move made no sense.  At least this rumour has been put to rest now and we can all resume our normal lives after all the hype surrounding it...

Globeandmail.com - Viewership is up for CBC's hockey coverage, averaging 1.206 million per game.
And the CBC, despite losing three Toronto Maple Leafs telecasts in its new NHL deal, is drawing prime-time audiences that are up 4 per cent from last year, to 1.206 million a game.

The Leafs traditionally drive the CBC's audiences, but the network did not lose much without them in the three telecasts.
So the CBC reduced the amount of Toronto games and they saw a 4% increase in their audience? Sounds like a good trend to me!

And that's the daily wrap up!
