Happy Friday the thirteenth!What a week this has been with the Ottawa winning two games on the road, former coach John Paddock running his mouth carelessly and the media starting to forget the horrible start to the year.
As far as the John Paddock incident, I will not rehash it in detail as Mike gave a good synopsis of it. But what I find interesting is that John had a clause in his contract which prohibited speaking poorly of his former employer. You can kiss that sweet paycheck goodbye now John! You know the paycheck I am talking about, it was the one you got for being fired. It sure must have felt good to get that off your chest and like many a first grader, play the blame game, but why potentially throw away the fistfulls of cash for some comments made in poor taste? Oh well, at least I was entertained.

Tim also went on to say that at this point teams are simply kicking tires and not offering nearly enough for some of the Sens players.
It's still too far out for many serious offers just yet, but they will come.
He went on to say that he and Bryan have a plan on what they want to do at the deadline and any other GM's that wants a good player is going to pay a high cost to acquire him.
That plan sounds suspiciously like every other non-playoff bound team come trade deadline. Not original, but the logical one. At least this is another signal we will be sellers.
He also said that Eliott is performing extremely well and if he continues for the rest of the season, that he and Bryan think that they have solved the Senators goaltending issues.
I would not be opposed to getting a good young goaltender prospect for one of our assets come trade deadline, just in case Elliott does not work out as anticipated. He's still young and finding his game, but it is becoming more evident that Jeff Glass is not going to pan out, so there is a need in Binghamton for a solid goalie.
He and Bryan have been happy with the recent play of the Sens of late and he contributes that to Clouston. He said that Cory is a different coach from Hartsburg and Paddock because those 2 were more soft spoken and laid back where as Cory is more aggressive and likes to bark like a General. He said that he is pleased that the players have responded well to Clouston.
It's too soon to say whether the success is derived from the shakeup, or his style, but in the next few weeks it will be more obvious.

I'm glad BM didn't make any trades when everyone was calling for his head because he wouldn't Now, at least are guys are playing better and everyone's trade value's increasing. I just hope BM sticks to whatever plan he's worked out, this team needs re-tooling. We just don't have enough talent or propects to make a run anytime soon. I don't think moving UFAs will be enough, either. He's going to have to move some guys with big-time value to get this team headed back on the path to serious contender status.
