A few cobbs of news came in Sunday. We've peeled them and given you the buttery golden kernels:
- The Ottawa Senators are reporting on their website that Cody "C-Bass" Bass has been sent back down to Binghamton by the big club. Buddy was a healthy scratch last night against the Lightning. No word on the fates of Ilya Zubov and Brian Lee, who both played last night.
-Speaking of Zubov, he registered his first NHL point last night, earning a second assist on Alex Picard's 2nd period power-play goal. On an unrelated note, props to Picard for that monster hip check he threw last night.
-TSN.ca is reporting that Brian McGrattan has enrolled voluntarily in the league's susbtance abuse program. This should fan the flames of all those cocaine rumours that dogged last year's edition of the Senators. Everyone heard these claims, but the media never discussed them in any detail. Until I hear something about these accusations from a more reliable sources than "my friend's girlfriend's cousin," "this guy I know who played Atom with Emery" and so forth, I remain unconvinced of their accuracy.
