Monday Morning Wrap-Up

TSN.ca - Reporting the final cuts to the World Junior roster for Team Canada.  Ottawa prospect Patrick Wiercioch did not make the team in a bit of a non-shocker.

Senate's Note:  The odds were pretty long that Patrick would make the team, but I was holding out hope so I could get a long look at him over the holidays.  Even though de didn't make the roster, its a compliment to him and the Senators that he even got invited to try-out after he was not invited to the summer camp.

Canoe.ca - Recycling some of Don Cherry's comments.  To summarize it briefly, he was giving kudos to the Washington Capitals for dressing well (and being in first place), and then says this about Mike Fisher and Andrej Meszaros:

Now I'm gonna show ya two thugs. Look at this, this is Tampa, a last-place club. Don't they look like a bunch of thugs? Look at this guy, Meszaros. They're gonna steal your hubcaps

Senate's Note: Leave it to Don Cherry to discuss suits instead of something interesting that happened on the ice.  I wonder how many suits he owns now?  I do agree that those two players would look much better had they worn a standard suit and tie.  I highly doubt that there is a correlation to how the team dresses and how they place in the standings however.
