Team Canada will host its first red vs. white tonight. The tickets are only 10$ and it will be a good chance to see Canada's talent before they begin the drive for five! Also, it will be interesting to see how Patrick Wiercioch can stack up against the other top Canadian defensemen. Ottawa selected him last year in the second round.
According to Hockey's Future:
Wiercioch has a nice blend of size and skill. He’s a good all around defenseman who can play in many different situations. A mobile puck moving defenseman, he has very good hands but needs to better his skating. Needs to add some size and strength to become effective down the road. Has the smarts and know how to be effective.
Senate's Note: Patrick was not invited to Team Canada's summer camp, so he will really have to prove himself quickly if he has any hope of cracking the roster. I wouldn't bet on him making the team, but it is a great compliment to even be invited!
