Ottawa 67's defenseman Tyle Cuma injured his knee during an inter-squad game for Team Canada. He was highly probable for making the squad, but with his injury, it gives Ottawa prospect Patrick Wiercioch a better chance at making the team.
Senate's Note: I would never wish injury upon any player, just noting that with Tyler Cuma out of the picture, it leaves an extra spot on Team Canada's defense that needs to be filled. There is a slight chance that Tyler could return to action, but it all depends on how he heals and whether the damage could be worsened by skating. Patrick Wiercioch was a bit of a long shot to make team, so with Tyler's injury, it might give him a chance to put on Team Canada's jersey this upcoming holiday season.
