The Daily Wrap Up - Monday January 12, 2009

What an utterly abysmal week for the Senators, losing all four contests.

Canoe.ca - Daniel Alfredsson has a problem.  He is not a good gambler, but continues to want to do so!
After having to wear a Team Canada jersey to practice last year and losing a snow-shovelling wager to Shean Donovan this year, Alfredsson was asked if he'd ever bet against Canada again.  "If it's against Sweden, I probably will, but otherwise no," he said.

Oh yeah, he also still believes in the playoffs, but questions whether it's realistic.  Reality must be faced and players need to see just how big of a hole they put themselves in.  I hope Murray is kept around as he did a terrific job at last years draft, and it looks like this year we will have some high picks!

Sun.ca - The Oilers are more interested in Fisher than Spezza.
While league sources say the Oilers have a mild interest in Ottawa's top centre, the man Edmonton general manager Steve Tambellini really wants is Mike Fisher.
So we don't have to give up Spezza, and we can unload Fisher?  How is that not great news!? When rumours are reported to the public they are most likely dead, however, I am extremely excited about this one.  If we could get Gagner (or Cogliano) and a pick, I would be overjoyed!  Then again this rumour is courtesy of Bruce Garrioch, so take it with a grain of salt.

And that's the daily wrap up!

I wish that rumour were true as it would be absolutely phenomenal for our team. However, most things Big Bruce tends to say end up being untrue.
