Senate's Note: Stempniak is not much of an upgrade over what the Senators currently have in the secondary scoring. Murray made the right decision by not getting involved in this trade. He is currently waiting for Vermette and Fisher to get things going, and they should, given some time with consistent linemates.

Stempniak Traded, Murray Caught Snoozing? I Think Not!
Lee Stempniak has been traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Alexander Steen and Carlo "humpty dumpty" Colaiacovo. Although none of the players being traded are proven commodities, Stempniak is definitely the gem of the trade with a career years 2 years ago, obtaining 52 points. The leafs are obviously hoping he can return to form. The leafs gave up an oft injured defenseman in Colaiacovo and a former first rounder in Alexander Steen. Neither have seemed to fit in under the rule of Ron Wilson.
