Quick Hit: Chicago 2 Ottawa 0

Ladies, Gentleman, People Covered Under Australia's New Third Gender Legislation:

Another Senator loss. My thoughts on why Ottawa lost: Didn't score enough goals.

-Gerbs only allowed one goal, but looked like he was fighting the puck.
-Vermette had some chances, but is obviously never going to score again.
-The TSN pannel says Ottawa's window has closed, and that they are no longer an elite team, defying popular opinion and readily apparent realities with their cutting edge insight.
-Bob Mackenzie (competent) says Ottawa and 29 other teams are aggressively pursuing a college senior who is a late bloomer (UPDATE: Correctly identified by Andy as the University of Denver's Tyler Bozak) they feel can be a top six forward at the end of the season...

- I remain skeptical.
- Ok I admit it: Did an all nighter last night, slept through the first two periods. Sue me.

Yep. No secret. They've got to make some changes. Hate to say it, as they're all good guys, but some have to go. i think they should start with minor changes, maybe try and move fish or kelly to get some prospects and picks. If they're still out of the playoff picture come trade deadline, make some big time changes and move whoever it takes to get early picks and serious prospects. JBo is not the answer, amazing draft picks are, especially with the falling dollar and recession in the mail, young talent is where it's at. Doubters, just at the team that shut out the Sens tonight. Young, fast, and talented. Like the Sens used to be. Now they're old, slow, and overpaid.

I think that Muckler's poor drafting and depletion of our youth down in Binghamton is really starting to become evident now. Most other NHL teams have been able to find some kind of impact player on their farm team. For the Senators, we are a year or two away before we may have anyone ready to make an impact on our team. At least in any kind of significant way.
